Standard Operating Procedures

The Bird Control Company abides by all relevant statutory obligations.

We carry out regular staff training sessions, both external and in-house, working in conjunction with accredited training bodies in order to meet both our own and client-specific requirements.

All our operatives are highly experienced and hold qualifications in falconry, as well as the BPCA (British Pest Control Association) Certificate in Urban Bird Control & Management.

Our operatives are certified as competent for working at height, and are qualified to operate access equipment.

Our company training policy and philosophy reflect our continued commitment to meet with:

• All animal welfare, protection and conservation regulations, including the Animal Welfare Act, 2006, the Wildlife & Countryside Act (1981), as amended, and the European Birds Directive;
• Transport and Movement of Animals legislation;
• The Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974 ;
• The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999;
• Health & Safety training for managers;
• Employee Induction Training;
• Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 1999;
• Risk Assessments;
• Method Statements;
• Other regulatory and statutory legislation as dictated by contract requirements.

We have established standard operating procedures (SOPs) that meet all current H&S considerations; these can be augmented to suit individual client’s needs and requirements.
